The CAGP actively promotes initiatives focusing on the mental health of the Canadian elderly population. As a national organization we recognize the growing need for geriatric psychiatrists evidenced in the growth of the elderly population and lack of access in many Canadian regions.
Over the years the academy has offered support in the form of awards to psychiatry residents and residents in sub-specialty geriatric psychiatry programs. To further this initiative the academy is seeking donations to help fund the educational initiatives of residents. 100% of donations collected will be put towards funding the existing awards and expanding the number of awards available.
Top reasons to donate to the CAGP:
Training Award: The goal of this award is to support graduating psychiatrists to participate in a sub-specialty resident program in geriatric psychiatry.
Resident Award: The purpose of the Resident Award of the Canadian Academy of Geriatric Psychiatry is to promote the development of future Canadian psychiatrists with a special interest in geriatric psychiatry.
