Canadian academy of GERIATRIC PSYCHIATRY online study group

Following the intensive 2-day review course in Geriatric Psychiatry on Sept 23 - 24, 2013 in Ottawa, the CAGP will be holding an Online Study Group that will commence November 2013 through August 2014.

The course will be co-chaired by Dr. Mark Rapoport, president of the CAGP, Dr. Dallas Seitz, a geriatric psychiatrist at Queen's University, and Dr. Andrew Wiens, associate psychiatry professor at the University of Ottawa. Faculty members include Drs. Keri-Leigh Cassidy, Peter Chan, Jon Fleming, Laura Gage, Daphna Grossman, Marnin Heisel, Nathan Herrmann, Benoit Mulsant, Jeff Myers, Tarek Rajji, Kenneth Shulman, and David Streiner, as well as the three co-chairs.

The review course was developed with the technical and educational guidance of Dr. Marcus Law, Director of Technology Enabled Learning at the Centre for Faculty Development of the University of Toronto.

This online study group will consolidate learning of geriatric psychiatry in an innovative, interactive, and fun manner, and if you're studying for the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) examination in geriatric psychiatry it is certain to be of help. Our program is open to psychiatrists, residents in psychiatry and medical students, and features interactive online learning in "asynchronous" study groups (sign on at your convenience). Nineteen 2-week modules with expert faculty will cover a wide array of topics in geriatric psychiatry at an advanced level.

The online format will include recommendations of key up-to-date review papers, practice exam questions, reflective discussion of controversies, opportunities to ask faculty questions you’ve always wanted to know (but were afraid to ask), and to discuss clinical problems with peers and faculty.
